Condolences on the Repose in the Lord of
His Eminence Archbishop Andronik
Serbian True Orthodox Hierarchical Council
To Our Beloved in the Lord brother-bishops,
His Eminence Archbishop Sophronius and His Grace Bishop Andrei, to the
God-preserved Diocese of New York and North America, to the Clergy, Monastics,
and all the Faithful Children of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad
Dear in the Lord brother bishops Sophronius and Andrew, Dear Fathers, Brothers and Sisters, All Faithful Children of the Russian diaspora,
With deep sorrow and great sadness in our
hearts, we received the news that today the Lord has called to His eternal dwellings your beloved archpastor and our dear brother in Christ and fellow
servant, His Eminence Archbishop Andronik.
On behalf of the Serbian True Orthodox
Church, as well as personally, we extend to you our sincerest condolences on
this great and irreplaceable loss for the entirety of True Orthodoxy.
For all of us in Serbia, Vladyka Andronik
was not just a hierarch of a Sister Church. He was a living and strong
connection to the historical Russian Church Abroad of St. Philaret the New
Confessor and the great ROCOR fathers whom we have held as our brightest
examples since the very beginning of our sacred struggle for True Orthodoxy in
Serbia. Archbishop Andronik’s uncompromising rejection of union with the Moscow
Patriarchate in 2007, as well as his later brave witness to the truth, will
forever remain a shining example of modern confession of True Orthodoxy.
We will remember him with great love and
gratitude because it was he, in his wise ecclesiastical labor and true
brotherly love, who opened the doors of complete liturgical and eucharistic
communion with our Serbian Church. Through his person, our two Churches united
at one spiritual Chalice in a shared confession of the faith.
In these fateful, troubled times for your
widowed diocese, we wish to assure you that you have our firm support. As the
need arises, if you so ask for it, we, as your Sister Church are ready to help
you in any way, whether it be spiritual, canonical, or administrative, in order
to preserve the continuity and stability of your Church.
We
offer up heartfelt prayers to Our Savior that the newly-reposed Archbishop
Andronik’s every sin, voluntary or involuntary, be forgiven, and that he take
up his abode in the Heavenly Kingdom. For your church, we pray that you be
granted consolation and spiritual strength to continue in his footsteps along
the narrow, holy way of uncompromising True Orthodoxy.
Eternal memory and the heavenly kingdom to
His Eminence Archbishop Andronik!
5/18 June, 2026
With brotherly love in the Risen Lord,
Bishop Akakije of Utesiteljevo
Bishop Nektarije of Shumadia
With the Clergy, Monastics, and Faithful of the STOC
